First in State - French Beginners

As part of the North Shore 5 (NS5) initiative, HSC Language courses are shared between five local high schools (Chatswood, Killara, Kuring-gai, St Ives & Turramurra). Applications for student travel 2016

From 2 November 2015, a new online SSTS application process is being introduced for schools within the Opal network, coinciding with the introduction of the School Opal card. Schools outside the Opal network should continue to process the existing blue SSTS application forms and send them to the appropriate transport operators. Most parents, guardians and students won't need to apply for a school travel pass for 2016 if they have already been given a school student travel pass for the current year. BYOD Year 7 2016

We are launching a BYOD program for Year 7 students in 2016. This will be a targeted approach to the use of technology in the classroom with students in Year 7 bringing their own computing device to school each day from Term 1. We have arranged a vendor purchase program for some of the more popular devices we see students already bringing. These are models which have been specified for education by the manufacturers and carry extended warranty as well as educational pricing. 2016 school funding allocations

All NSW public schools are currently being advised of their 2016 Resource Allocation Model (RAM) funding. RAM distributes funding based on individual needs of students and schools, and gives schools greater flexibility to make financial decisions. The way schools use their RAM funding will vary based on local needs. Some support will be for the entire school, and some will be for particular groups of students or individual students. Bootcamp session

Bootcamp

A Friday morning Bootcamp has been running at St Ives HS for over 12 months now. We have had over 150 students come and try a Bootcamp session and some have made this a weekly ritual. All fitness levels are catered for so everyone is welcome. Each week we have a new theme. Many of the themes relate to what has happened around Australia or the world during the preceding days.
