High school expressions of interest

Year 6 into Year 7 enrolments

If your child is currently enrolled in Year 6 in a public primary school, and you wish to apply to enrol in our school in Year 7 of the following year, contact the Year 6 Coordinator at your current school to obtain an "Expression of Interest" form to complete and return to them. The primary school will forward the information to us and we will contact you once a decision has been made about your child's potential enrolment, and next steps.

If your child is currently enrolled in Year 6 in a non-government primary school, and you wish to apply to enrol in our school in Year 7 of the following year, contact us to obtain an "Expression of Interest" form to complete and return to us. We will contact you once a decision has been made about your child's potential enrolment, and next steps.

Year 7 to Year 12 enrolments

If your child is currently enrolled in another public or non-government high school, and you wish to apply to enrol in our school, contact us to obtain an expression of interest form to complete and return to us. We will contact you once a decision has been made about your child's potential enrolment, and next steps.

Temporary visa or visitor visa

If your child has a temporary visa or visitor visa you will first need to apply to enrol by contacting the temporary residents program who will give you forms to bring to the school.

It's important that you tell the principal if your child has any special circumstances, allergies, health or medical conditions, before your child starts school.

Enrolment eligibility

Owing to limits on accommodation, enrolment in any year is restricted to 180 students (6 classes) . In accordance with government policy, preference is given to local students and a buffer is maintained for new arrivals living in the area.

Where non-local applications exceed the number of places available in any year, factors such as sibling enrolments, curriculum choices, distance from the school and the availability of other schools will be considered.  A waiting list for non-local enrolments will be based on the criteria outlined. Application and selection by merit, irrespective of residency will determine placement in the Gifted and Talented Program (one class per year).

International students who wish to enrol at St Ives High School must apply through the Department of Education & Training's International Students Centre. Their enrolment will be considered on their competency in English and availability of ESL support, availability of space within the year group, curriculum choices, distance from the school, gender balance within the school and the availability of other schools.

If you would like to know more about the quality education offered at St Ives High School, please e-mail us.

If you are new to NSW and wish to enrol your student at St Ives High please complete the application form and organise an interview time.
